Faculty of Education turns 100

From its humble beginnings in 1916, the Graduate School of Education has grown to be one of the world leaders in teacher preparation and education research.

In 2016 for a third consecutive year, the Graduate School of Education achieved the highest employer reputation score of all Western Australian Education faculties in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

For 100 years, the Graduate School of Education at UWA has mentored and prepared hundreds of teaching graduates. Many have gone to become leading scholars, international researchers and inspiring teachers to their own students.

A common thread that runs through these individuals is the mark they’ve made in education. They have helped future generations learn, absorb and imagine the impossible to achieve great things.

As members of the School, this is what we aspire to and aim to achieve for our graduates and education in Australia and abroad.

Thank you for taking this first step to being part of this important profession where the rewards are boundless. As educators, we have an important role to play within our community and that is to educate and inspire future generations to become the best that they can be. We look forward to helping you reach out to future generations and fulfilling this role.

Professor Helen Wildy
Dean of Graduate School of Education, UWA

Our Vision is to create a world in which every child reaches their full potential.
