The BASE Assessment is an online program to assess students entering primary school.
It can assist with:
- assessing the progress of students in Literacy, Math and Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)
- diagnosing individual student work and providing data to indicate what areas students are achieving or underachieving
- predicting future performance for identifying individuals who might benefit from early intervention
Introduction to BASE Australia
BASE is developed around international research. All assessment items are correlated with future literacy and numeracy.
BASE is not designed to assess students against local curriculum objectives, rather the assessment allows progress to be measured in many different contexts. The assessment also helps schools in terms of their accountability and reporting.
