If you already have a four-year teaching qualification at a sufficiently high standard, you can undertake a Bachelor of Education with Honours.

Course outline

Honours students are usually looking to pursue further studies such as a masters degree or a doctorate. This degree offers the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your research capacity for later entry into a research degree.

The course consists of units to a total value of 48 points:

Bachelor of Education with Honours Core Units (total 42 points)

and one unit from Bachelor of Educational Honours Options (6 points)

Your dissertation is to be submitted by the first day of the University examination period of the semester in which it is to be completed.

For the coursework and seminar units, the most common pattern includes seminar presentation and/or assignments (5,000 - 6,000 words per unit).

Admission requirements

Domestic students

To be admitted, you will have one of the following with a weighted average mark of at least 80%:

(a) Bachelor of Education of this University completed as part of a combined course; or
(b) Graduate Diploma in Education of this University; or
(c) Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies of this University.
