When you apply for admission to the Doctor of Education you are applying to join a university which has an international reputation for academic excellence and achievement.
EdD students are expected to make a substantial contribution to policy, practice or research methods in the field of education. It is not a degree just for teachers, but rather people who are interested in education in the broad sense. Amongst graduates and current enrolments are university academics and administrators, school principals, members of the nursing profession, and military personnel.
Practitioners most likely to benefit from this course include leaders and aspiring leaders in a wide variety of education services. Participants develop further content knowledge in cognate areas related to the kinds of career positions and pathways that they might pursue. Participants are encouraged to take up research questions germane to their career interests. Research studies conducted for the Doctor of Education should make a contribution to professional knowledge and practice.
