The Fogarty Foundation Postgraduate Research Forum is an opportunity to showcase education-related research and receive valuable feedback from the education research community in Western Australia.

Call for abstracts

Postgraduate research students at universities in Western Australia are invited to present their education-related research at the 2017 Fogarty Foundation Postgraduate Research Forum, organised by the Graduate School of Education at UWA.

Who: Postgraduate research students at all stages in their education-related research. 

What: The forum will comprise 'Ignite' (short form) and 'Insight' (traditional academic) presentations. Please see abstract guide below which describes the different presentation formats.

When: Thursday 30 November 2017 (in the afternoon). The forum will conclude with an early evening networking "sundowner" where students can exchange ideas informally.

Why: The Fogarty Foundation invests in education to provide opportunities for individuals to realise their potential and to change and enrich lives. The forum is a unique opportunity for postgraduate students to support one another in their research journey. Presenting at the forum helps develop practical presentation skills and plays an important role in developing a sense of community among researchers. 

Abstract Submission

For an opportunity to participate, please complete the abstract form below and email it to Stephanie Hiraishi at Stephanie.hiraishi@research.uwa.edu.au no later than Friday 29 September 2017. For abstract evaluation criteria, please refer to the Presentation Formats Guide. Accepted abstracts will appear in advertisements featuring the programme for the forum and presentation titles and keywords will be posted online. Presenters may be contacted for optional marketing opportunities.

Registration to attend the forum will open in mid-October

What are the forums? 

Higher Degree by Research students from all Western Australian universities are invited to participate in the annual Fogarty Foundation Postgraduate Research Forum. Supported by the Fogarty Foundation the forum provides an opportunity for students to present their education-related research, regardless of their stage in the research process, and to share their ideas with other students in a supportive and stimulating environment.

Attendance to the forum is open to all those who are interested in education.

The Fogarty Foundation Postgraduate Research Forum is a great opportunity for postgraduate students and alumni to discuss various agendas related to their most recent and cutting-edge research areas.
