Leadership in education

Further information

Find out what our postgraduates are researching

A strong and growing area, leadership in education is the process of enlisting and guiding the talents and energies of teachers, pupils, and parents toward achieving common educational aims.

The positive and strong connection the Graduate School of Education has with school principals and educational leaders within the state is facilitated though the School’s well-regarded research reputation and expertise in this area.

Research within the School also extends beyond the local and national scene to studies of educational leadership in challenging circumstances, to comparing practices from countries as diverse as Iceland and Bhutan, and to challenges to school leaders in challenging circumstances, including those of post-conflict societies.
