Award process
Award nominations will be assessed by a judging panel of:
- A student representative
- The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) or nominee
- GSE representatives (the Dean and two academic staff, one will be a previous year's award winner)
Each year we offer annual student or staff nominated awards for excellence in teaching and research supervision.
The Faculty will offer three awards, in association with UWA's Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, Teaching and Learning Policy Unit, and UWA's Student Guild, to the value of $1,500 per award winner on a yearly basis. Individuals cannot receive the award in two consecutive years.

The selection criteria:
Excellence in Teaching Award
- Approaches to teaching and (to) learning support that influence, motive and inspire students to learn
- Development of curricula, resources and services that reflect a command of the field
- Approaches to assessment, feedback and learning support that foster independent learning
- Respect and support for the development of students as individuals
- Scholarly activities and service innovations that have influenced and enhanced learning and teaching
Excellence in Research Supervision Award
- Approaches to supervision that influence, motivate and inspire students to learn
- Approaches to supervision and feedback that foster independent learning
- Respect and support for the development of students as individuals
- Scholarly activities that have influenced and enhanced learning and teaching
