Joining the Thinking Science Australia program requires strong and consistent support from the relevant teacher and the whole school.

Preparation, delivery and evaluation of thinking lessons need to be well supported.

Teacher’s commitment

• To gain a good theoretical understanding and acceptance of the rationale and philosophy for implementing such CASE lessons into classrooms.
• To receive considerable support and coaching (from Thinking Science Australia staff and School staff) in the methodology.
• To undertake the program for the full two years.
  

School’s commitment

• The whole school should be committed to the Thinking Science Australia program - whereby teachers, managers in schools, technical support and parents are included in the decision to promote thinking in students.

Thinking Science Australia’s commitment

• Provide initial two days training to teachers and other school support staff in the underpinning theory of CASE.
• Demonstrate how school lessons need to be developed based on the CASE theory.
• Provide a total of six professional development days over the two years of the program.
• Visit schools, provide co-teach lessons where necessary and provide ongoing support.
